Re: Edward Green Shoes
This is very interesting to know. As a D fitting Dover 202 man, I am in the hapless position of being a special order in any event. I wonder if my D is now a C under the new resin last regime? A related point on EG narrow fittings is their reluctance to use a Ridgeway sole - which I much prefer to t...

Re: Mezzaluna Pockets
Dear All, Thank you very much for your astute replies to my mezzaluna question; it's a real pleasure to have the benefit of wisdom from such august members. My concern was initially one of practicality - how could one have a curved hinge? but having seen the photo of Duke's flapped mezzalunas it has...

Mezzaluna Pockets
I would appreciate some guidance please. I have just put my LL Blue Barleycorn Donegal into production and asked for crescent / mezzaluna pockets as I think they will work well on that fabric. I was anticipating that as they have a curved top, that they would therefore be flapless, however my tailor...

Re: Navy HB suiting
I have the blue/grey pic & pic from the Botany book. Mine is 3977 -it not 'luxury' but it's a great cloth and drapes really well. I've just had a second pair of trousers made so it's still available I would think.

Re: Drakes
Michael Hill may still be there - but Drakes is certainly not! I took a walk down Garrett St earlier this week and all that is left of No15 is a pile of rubble that was being cleared away. Yes, I know they now have a shop, but it's not the same as popping in to discuss matters and being surrounded b...

Rowly
Why not drop them a friendly email and ask? A&S have been very happy to let me know what cloth their window dispays were wearing when I have been sufficiently moved to ask in the past - notably in my case the magnificent PoW flannel that seems to make an annual appearance (Hardy's 15oz #0323).

Re: T.M. Lewin quality and low-end or mid-end shirts
Azdak I also need a 14.5 inch collar without the body of the shirt looking like a balloon. I have had good results from H&K by asking them to put two darts in the back of their RTW shirts for me. It only takes a few days, doesn't cost much and to date they have always done a very neat job and which ...

fyrisboda Welcome from another recent member, and one with a scrawny 14.5 neck. My general experience with shirts over the past 20 years or so is that H&K survuive the laundy process better but are cut larger: T&A are cut slightly slimmer but the fabric gives out sooner. Not to mention sleve length ...
