Re: First Fitting

Buttons were dark brown and have a mixture of colors that I think compliments the fabric well. It does look great and is extremely comfortable.

Re: Linen instead of cotton as basic shirting

It feels slightly itchy and I notice more perspiration. I love the look and will continue to wear but I find it more comfortable when it is not extremely hot and humid.

Maybe the issue is that it is not 100% linen. I will give the LL linen shirting a try.

Lesser Golden Bale

Anyone have experience with Lesser 240 gram (7.5/8 oz) Lumbs Golden Bale? I have some of the old stock tropical which performs great but do not know how it compares to the Golden Bale.

Re: Buttons for a bespoke suit in black - size and colour?

I have used Tender Buttons and http://www.theliningcompany.co.uk

Both carry horn buttons.

From my understanding sizes are as follows:

23 Ligne = Sleeves and trouser

30 Ligne = Single breasted jacket

35 Ligne = Double breasted jacket

I bought mine at Tender Buttons in NYC. Also saw them at the following website but have never purchased from them: http://www.theliningcompany.co.uk/catal ... Path=34_79

Re: Can buttons make or break an outfit?

My poor photography doesn't help the situation. I think the matte finish goes well with the cloth.

Re: Can buttons make or break an outfit?

It may be the lighting because they look almost black in real life. I picked this color because thought they were more conservative than dark brown horn. I will try to take another picture.
