Where is the best place to find cloth in New York?

I'm going to take advantage of a trip I have coming up this summer to Sicily to have a suit or two made. I've heard that the Sicilian tailors often have pretty limited cloth selections so I'm planning on bringing my own. Do any of you have a good recommendation for a cloth merchant in New York who s...

Lange is an amazing watch, but if you want to talk about thick! I don't find my IWC too thick at all, however it is not appropriate as a dress watch. I often wear it with suits and it's not a problem at all. Due to it's antimagnetic soft iron core, it is weighty and took a few days to get used to bu...

I have a quite a few mechanical watches and even worked in the business for a while. IWC is a fantastic brand, well respected and well made. Of all my watches, my IWC Fliegercronograph is the watch I wear most. IWC is often thought of as the brand with the most comfortable bracelet as well.

Well cut gore-tex raincoats

Two years ago I have a quantity of raincoats made up in Gore-Tex -- no small feat -- and should have some left over. Post again if you are interested and I will see if I can send you a picture.

It looks to me that the jacket pictured has already molded to another person's body, not the wearer. I would not consider that an idea example of the Neapolitan fit. Particularly the shoulders are a problem. With a lightly constructed shoulder, the point to point measurement is critical, with the sh...

I'm not sure who is making it, but I think the quality is excellent. I have a cotton sweater that is as well made as anything. I just saw some Borrelli cashmere pullovers at Bergdorf Goodman that looked great.

RTW Model Reference

Dear Gentlemen, I would like to propose we create a reference list of the different models offered by the best RTW manufacturers. Makers such as Oxxford, Kiton, and Brioni offer a wide variety of fits off the rack and a list of such models and where to get them would be a great resource. For instanc...

Thanks, I have heard Tip Top is great. Unfortunately it isn't all that easy to get to. I have passed a number that look interesting on the Lower East Side, I just don't know which to frequent.

Similar to a drop shoulder on a knit sweater? I have always heard this shoulder construction referred to as the "German Style" or "German School" and is as far as I know simply a style. See Villarosa and Angeli's The Elegant Man, page 54.

Believe it or not, J. Press has some interesting short options. A very nice pair of glen plaids in cotton and a pair of super 90's charcoal grey.
