Wool shirtings.
Most of the Jermyn St shirtmakers offer a Viyella blend of 80% cotton, 20% wool. They are suitable to wear with a tie, but are regarded as country shirts. This doesn't mean much is the US, but I assume it would in the UK.

In Flusser's book "Dressing the Man", there is a picture of Jack Buchanan, the English hoofer who made "Band Wagon" with Astaire, wearing a pair of wide legged pants. This is the only man I have seen wearing them in the past 50 years of my sartorial life.
