Re: The durability of linen for jackets?

Does anyone know the website for Hardy's linen? Or alternatively where I can see the fabrics books in London?

Re: Italian tailor in London

Yes, I would like spalla camicia. I have had Savile Row soft tailoring before and I would now like something leaner and with a spalla camicia.

Italian tailor in London

I prefer an Italian cut of jacket with very little shoulder padding and not too baggy. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good Italian tailor in London. I do not want to pay Rubinacci prices (I read they are higher than Savile Row). And Brioni only alter ready made garments, which doesn't seem goo...

Tim Little are discontinuing their 'Whisky and Women' loafers so it looks like JM Weston, I'll go and check out all the other makers mentioned here as well, but £500 for a pair of chelsea boots seems excessive.....will they last a lifetime for that price...in that case perhaps not so expensive?

Thanks, I may go to check them all out tomorrow. I am looking for a pair of brown polished chelsea boots.....I don't suppose you have any ideas whether any of the manufacturers you mention do these particularly well? PS I do like the design of the 'Whiskey and Women" loafers on Tim Little's website,...

Tim Little Shoes?

Does anyone have any experince of these shoes? I understand it is a fairly young company, and the prices seem to be comparible or just slightly less than Churches. They are made in Northamptonshire and the company website says that the quality is second to none and they also do bespoke....their sale...

Shirtmaking Fabrics

I have found a good, attentive and very reasonably priced visiting bespoke shirtmaker in London called Bernard and Bernard. The price is £80 per shirt, but they will also make a shirt for £50 when the client supplies his own fabric. Their selection of fabrics is fairly good and I have ordered 8 shir...

So...... out of all the suggestions here, I'm now quite confused....... it seems that good, soft kid leather gloves with cashmere linings are not very accessible!

Re. HRH's slips, rather sadly I wrote to Sir Michael Peat (the Prince's Private Secretary)some little while ago asking whether he might know a tailor who could advise on the construction of a d/b waisctoat with slips. In a brief but courteous letter, he disclaimed any expertise in the matter but sug...

So do you think that my usual morning trousers will not go with a DB waistcoat? They are highish (above my belly button)!
