Sean Connery's suit trousers and those pleats
As one can read many places on the sartorial web, and on this forum too, the suit trousers Sean Connery wore as Bond, particularly in Dr No, are the bees' knees. They were the main inspiration for me always ordering double forward pleated trousers, and I'm sure for many others also. Because of a rel...

Re: Duke of Windor's shirt collar
On the topic of shirt collars, I'd like to throw out another favorite of mine: The collar on the shirts Pierce Brosnan wore as James Bond in The World Is Not Enough (shirts made by T&A). To me this is James Bond at his most elegant when it comes to his shirt. BB, I agree the collar looks pretty goo...

Re: Duke of Windor's shirt collar
Interesting discussions as always. I personally prefer a middle ground, but have my shirts cut fuller these days than when I started out (even though I've actually lost weight in the period). On the topic of shirt collars, I'd like to throw out another favorite of mine: The collar on the shirts Pier...

Re: Duke of Windor's shirt collar
These kind of billowing shirts were par for the course in this era I thought? Here is Sean Connery at age 31 or 32 rocking the same look

Charlie Watts and the DoW
Fascinating article about how Charlie Watts not only bought several of the Duke of Windsor’s suits at auction, but actually wore them! Some fascinating photos too: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9958385/amp/How-Rolling-Stones-drummer-Charlie-Watts-secretly-bought-Edward-VIIIs-Savile-Row-su...

Re: Duke of Windor's shirt collar
Thanks Michael. Found another angle of the photo in the first post that gives us a great look at both the fit of his shirt and his trousers. Interesting to see he uses a tab to hold the shirt in the trousers, I thought that was normally only used on dinner shirts. https://media.gettyimages.com/photo...

Re: Duke of Windor's shirt collar
Thanks Michael, good points as always. I think the below photo shows the same shirt (same pattern) with a different tie and at different angle, Dimensions seem rather moderate, but quite a bit of tie space. Very elegant. https://media.gettyimages.com/photos/new-york-new-york-duke-and-duchess-of-wind...

Duke of Windor's shirt collar
I've been perusing Getty Image's substantial collection of DoW photos, with a particular interest in his shirt collars (a topic discussed in this forum many times before). I came across this photo which shows an example of his collar without part of it concealed by a coat. It is quite moderate both ...

Re: An Oldtailorways DB by Old Henry
Thank You Michael. We made five variations of the “crescent” breast pocket before we were happy. Indeed we did, or rather Frank insisted on doing it over and over until HE was happy. That is tailor dedication! Full details on the coat and the process here: https://www.thelondonlounge.net/forum/view...

Just to remind everyone that Frank does a great sports coat too (and yes Mariano, it really hugs the neck :D ) https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/46696876615_f1ddacfc2e_k.jpg Untitled by Bond Beyond , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/47612538931_482c348754_k.jpg Untitled by Bond Beyond...

Re: An American Italian coat benchmade by an Irishman
Finally some photos of this truly amazing coat. I could't be happier with it. Particularly how the shoulders work with my physique. And the absolutely unique and beautiful out breast pocket. I think Frank made about 5 different versions of it before he was happy. The same kind of tweaking was done t...

An American Italian coat benchmade by an Irishman
I recently knocked off no 1 on my sartorial bucket list, a benchmade coat by Mr Frank Shattuck. I had initially considered such a coat to be a goal way into the future given Frank's location in upstate New York and myself in Norway. However, due to Belimad (Mariano's) pleasant results with Skype fit...

Mayor James Walker
I never heard much about this guy before reading one of Etutee's old posts, but a google search yielded some stunning photos. See a few below. The man must have had one heck of a valet / presser! And I love the soft shoulders on the coats. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/979/40144311220_4366ba8f41_z....
