What do you think about this look?

Hello, I recently came across this bold self-portrait by the notable Swedish painter Anders Zorn. It dates from 1915. I thought the overall effect of his outfit - cut and cloth colour -was highly memorable and rather flattering for his figure type. See here: http://www.anderszorn.info/portraits/paz8...

Re: Cleaning lined leather gloves

Thanks for that, I'll take a look at the info on the website. However, I live in the UK, so there would really need to be a London branch for me to use their service.

Cleaning lined leather gloves

I have a nice pair of Dent pigskin gloves lined with wool that are now rather the worse for wear. I know that some unlined leather gloves are advertised as "washable", and these can be washed with soap under a tap, but I'm pretty sure that mine are NOT washable - at least not in this way. Does anyon...

Re: Observations on Jermyn St & surroundings.

I strolled down the Piccadilly Arcade shortly after Christmas and thought it looked pretty healthy - I don't recall any empty units. Thanks for the info - I'm not familiar with this earlier version, I'll definitely try to take a look at it.

Re: Period tailoring on British TV

Jordan Marc: The discussion could certainly be widened to good "period" tailoring in modern films. I recently saw "Good Night and Good Luck" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433383/ ) set in early 1950s America, and thought that the suits the actor David Strathairn (playing Edward R. Murrow) wore were...

Period tailoring on British TV

Hello London Loungers, I've been reading this forum for some time now, but have only just got round to registering, so this is my maiden post, so to speak. I was wondering what the general opinion is on the numerous examples of period tailoring to be seen on British TV. In particular, I'm thinking o...
