I have pretty extensive long term experience with a lot of Barbours. They won't shrink on their own, HOWEVER, if you send them in for factory reproofing, where there's a fair amount of heat applied to the entire jacket, there are reports that they do shrink up a tad bit. This seems to be a bigger pr...

I always wondered why Cary sported a scarf early on in "To Catch a Thief". I just returned from my tailor, where after losing about 20 pounds, I had to have a soft tweed Martin Greenfield suit (that was too tight about a year ago) taken in a bit. At the risk of being thought vain, there are f...

Turnbull & Asser information
Can someone give me the name of the current CEO of Turnbull & Asser please? Also, do you know if he or she would receive mail at the Jermyn Street address, or is there a corporate headquarters?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Tweed is back this year, but that does or does not make it classic. If you are someone who is going to wear tailored clothing in our world, you are going to be out of the mainstream. I am actually saddened that some interlopers will be wearing tweed this year and next. I'm not necessarily proud of ...

For your information, the John Lobb Paris model Jermyn II looks very similar, and is of the same if not better quality. Pricey, though. Originally, this type of wholecut (at least the Jermyn II consists of one single piece of leather) was introduced as the John Lobb Paris limited edition 1999 (I th...

Help identifying a shoe
I can post a picture of this shoe if it doesn't spring to anyone's mind instantly, but . . .
It was an EG for RL Purple Label, a medium tan (antiqued) monk strap that was unique in that a very small strap ultimately closed the top flap. Does anyone know the name of this shoe model for Ralph Lauren?

I like the Weston/Saphir beeswax based waxes very much. I have also experimented with conservator's microcrystaline wax (Renaissance Wax), which is the preferred wax of antiquarians and armorers. While it protects and shines better than beeswax, it is not pigmented. Perhaps there's a chemist-type in...

Sorry to be late to this, but I do not think Mr. Cicchini does much of the work at the shop that bears his name, and I have been disappointed with his replacement there. Perhaps Mr. Cicchini can be specially requested? Note that the shop is closed for renovations right now. Mr. Park is still active,...
