no, I dont intend on sending them back to barkers for repair, however, if this initial quality is not acceptable then i would consider sending them back now in new condition to be repaired or replaced...

thank you costi, that is near exactly the type of coat i'm looking for. i think the style is great, except maybe i would go a tad shorter on the length... I guess the main issue for me would be level of water resistance available with a tweed,i.e, are there certain types of tweed that are waterproof...

couch; yeah it probably is partly the cut of the trousers that makes them more comfortable, but the tweed is just a nice feeling material, it seems to stretch nicely over the knee when sitting. I will investigate a suitable worsted-flannel as it will be used in rotation with other clothing, so wont ...

thanks for that, i do have a blue and white striped shirt with white collar and white french cuffs and was thinking about that to go with it. so i will try it out and see how it looks.

ok thanks alden, that sounds pretty logical. Can you recommend a type or grade of worsted that has a bit more stretch in it, or is of a softer variety?

I have been given a silver tie as a present. its a nice italian silk tie, it has firm thick texture with a bit of a grain in it. it is a really light silver and is bordering on white. Is there a way to wear this tie that would look good? would you wear it with a white shirt for a white on white look...
