Re: The durability of linen for jackets?
Dear esteemed gentlemen, I am resurrecting an old thread here, and it is somewhat a bit off topic, but I have recently commissioned a single-breasted 2-piece suit in Mersolair, and I was hoping to get some suggestions on what kind of hip pockets I should have on my jacket. I am hoping to get versati...

Re: An interview with Costi
Costi,
Echoing those before me, that was a well surmised interview, and a thoroughly enjoyable read. As it is often said, brevity is the soul of wit.

How about a 3-roll-2, and fully unlined?

That would certainly be interesting, makes for a cleaner look at the chest.Greger wrote: Jett breast and patch lowers I think is a nice combination.

Re: Savile Row Tailors, Pricing and their House Style
Clemens, Just to add on my personal experience along with the earlier comments to date, I decided to start with an 'off-Row' tailor when I first began my bespoke journey simply because of cost sensitivities. As Costi had mentioned, nothing will substitute your own learning experience that you acquir...

Re: Dress code for the races
Apologies for not clarifying earlier.
This is for the Newmarket races in Suffolk, England in July. Not clear about seating at the present moment.

Dress code for the races
All, I have recently received an invite to attend the races during the summer months, and wondered whether anyone would be able to shed some light on the typical attire for such events. Bearing in mind that this is primarily an event at which to entertain one's clients, I doubt going in morning dres...

Re: Omega Restoration
I have an early 60s Omega that was my fathers. I have had it repaired three times now (last two in London at Watches of Switzerland) and still it quickly resorted to gaining an absurd amount of time. Medusala, I had recently purchased a restored vintage 1957 seamaster (see here: http://www.stylefor...

Re: True Bespoke vs. E-tailoring
I recall reading elsewhere something similar about this topic in the past as well. Like the many before me, I do enjoy the time-consuming process of bespeaking a suit the traditional way (as opposed to 'e-tailoring', 'remote bespoke', 'long distance tailoring' or however many other labels one can th...

Re: Dugdale Bros. Question
Lowndes,
I haven't tried out the fabrics from the Dugdale bunch that you are presently considering, but echoing the many before me, I can chime in and say that I am very satisfied with my wool/mohair 2-piece from Dugdale's Cape Breeze book.
Good luck!

Re: Spanish bespoke tailor
El Aristócrata,
¿Qué tal?
Apologies, but that was the best Spanish I could muster!
It is always interesting to read about bespoke tailors all over the world. Please forgive me if I have overlooked something here, but is there is a link to the blog which you have mentioned?

Re: First bespoke suit, London
If you are looking for something at slightly lower cost, Graham Browne seem to be an option - Simon Crompton at Permanent Style has blogged about them a lot, and the few garments I've seen fall into the 'charmingly imperfect' school of handwork - I'd happily consider them as a value-for-money alter...

Re: Summer / unlined suits?
Sartorialist, I have never experienced what you describe. Pick a good Bemberg for a lining and I don't think you shouldn't have fraying problems and strands of fiber showing through the fabric. However, on a dark blue fresco jacket I would not have a white sleeve lining, as it will more than likely...

Re: Summer / unlined suits?
A follow-up question on suitable sleeve linings for summer / fresco suits : Given the open-weave nature of summer / fresco fabrics, I have been led to believe that it is highly possible for some parts of the sleeve lining to fray over time (and due to a combination of static build up), strands of l...
