Need Advice regarding Bespoke Shoes

Hi all, I would really appreciate your advice on a new pair of shoes I just received from a WS Foster and they are great, although I ordered them with their distressed look. The shoes fit great and the firm has already agreed to adjust the finish of the shoes since they made a mistake, I am wonderin...

Are those prices for real? Where did you see/hear that?

Re: Luggage

I love the look of the Swaine luggage, but I could not check it. Car trip, however are a different story. I am in London at the end of the month, so i will check out SAB.

I am leaning towards the Rimowa although the zero haliburtin seems sturdy!

Re: Dinner Suit

I just wanted to thank everybody for their advice. I am visiting my tailor whilst in London at the end of the month. I am leaning towards black, so long as it's super black and dark. While I like midnight blue, I need to see the cloth again in person.

I will keep you all informed!

Re: Dinner Suit

Hi! Thanks for all of your input. So sorry for taking so much time to get back to the thread. Costi is right in asking why midnight blue? I am not sure, except when I asked one of my tailors what I should consider for my first and what might be my only dinner suit, and he suggested a special extra d...

Dinner Suit

I have finally reached the point in both my career and life as well as wardrobe to justify commissioning a bespoke dinner suit. I am most likely to go with a single breasted peak lapel suit. However, I am having trouble deciding between midnight blue or black. I would love the advice of fellow membe...

Re: Huntsman feedback and advice

Hi Alden, Thank you for reassuring me about Huntsman. I am very new to the bespoke process, with the exception of comissioning a couple of good suits from an Italian tailor in Argentina while I was on vacation. Patrick Murphy was not the cutter on the trip to my US city. I am working with Dario Car...

Re: The END is near ...

Richemont? They are the jokers who closed down Sulka - and do you really say that they have done a great job with Dunhill ?! To my mind it is a great (but inevitable) pity that the really good, small family firms will succumb to offers that they can't refuse from huge, faceless international conglo...

Re: The END is near ...

I forgot to say: I think that the Huntsman ownership group is closer to Richemont than how Americans tend to operate businesses is that David Coleridge their chairman is of a Richemont background and understands how to work with valuable branded assets.

Re: The END is near ...

I am sure it would be best for Peter, Patrick, or Poppy to best explain themselves, but as a happy Huntsman Customer, I will do my best to communicate what Patrick and Peter communicated to me. I do order my shirts from Huntsman (as well as some tailored clothing) and when I met with Patrick and Pet...

Re: A Bespoke under Construction at Benson & Clegg (and Some

You are most welcome! I look forward to reading your feedback and seeing how the suit develops. It is great to hear that they will be able to have multiple fittings when you are next in London. As for silk lining, I have nit done that. Or to put it another way, whatever Anderson, Huntsman, and Logsd...

Re: A Bespoke under Construction at Benson & Clegg (and Some

Hi! Welcome to the lounge and Congrats on your new commission. I have not gone to Benson and Clegg before, but I do know Ken. He is a wonderful tailor and i think he will ensure you have a wonderful suit. As for Huntsman, I think they are a great firm that went through some difficult times. They are...

Enjoy spending time with the tailors. You could also look at A and S or Richard Anderson.

Re: Vintage Jeweled Cufflinks

Just to add to the thread, the following French dealer has some lovely pieces at prices that seem reasonable: http://www.ultiman.fr/ult1/php/RH.php?type=products&eltid=11&plevel=3&lang=en I have picked up a number of pairs of precious metal cufflinks on eBay at prices below those I'd expect to pay ...
