Thank you gentlemen for the button resources.

A note to Alden: has there been any interest in a LL button?

Does anyone have any quotidian advice regarding "women and children first" or best way to survive a knife fight?

One week at sea

Dear Gentlemen,

I'm going to be sailing in the BVI for a week (April 07) and wondered what recommendations Loungers had about living in close quarters on warm waters?

Most sincerely,

Eric

Dear Kevin,

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you're having as much success as Peter did (above.)

Is there any chance you'll post pictures?

My trip to India has been delayed but i hope to make it next year in the Autumn.

Most Sincerely,

Eric

Dear Sir,

For what it's worth, Carl Goldberg (CEGO - Manhattan, not so far from New Jersey) recommended to me for my order an unfused collar and fused cuffs. I'm very happy with this combination.

Ah, if only losing a little weight could make us all look a little more like CG. I could get off the Creed-feed and stop contemplating "lifts". Richt, a question that perhaps you'll know from your research: that talking tour Grant did in the late 70s ( I forget the exact date, perhaps early 80s) was...

Dear Richt, Is it that Andre Benjamin 3000 has good style or a good stylist? I don't know much about him other than a few GQ-type spreads that are always raving. In the little I’ve seen of him he’s always come across as a more of a construct than casual. I agree with TVD. Celebrity has such a differ...

Dear Richard:

Thank you for responding here. I greatly look forward to getting the book. It seemed from the excerpt that there was a LOT of information to be had.

Congratulations on what must have been a labor of love. Any chance of you clearing up the lingering Floris question?

Thanks for the recommendation Ed. I stopped in their store this afternoon. Both sales people were very nice and helpful. Seems like most of the merchandise is still last year. The gentleman i spoke with said that they were going to get some cashmere-lined gloves in around the end of September, in a ...

Cary Grant in Town&Country

The September issue of Town&Country offers an extended exceprts from “Cary Grant: A Celebration of Style,” by Richard Torregrossa. Beyond the usual assemblage of biographical history, they offer up some sartorial facts and decisions made by Grant that were new to me and perhaps of some novel use to ...

That explains much. And illuminates a rather unfortunate error on my part. I should have checked at home before blithely volunteering the Kiton’s composition. Thank you, mrwynn. Perhaps the fabric contains the secretive, warm luster in the dark gray that i desire? In any event, I am looking forward ...

Dear David, I'd seen the Kiton about 4 months ago at Bergdorff's. It was indeed silk, one of their 14 microns. I haven't seen it recently. It was almost indistinguishable from the black, except that it was warmer. I imagine that there are occasions where black isn't right and almost black would do t...

Dear David: "I am working on an English oxford weave silk that will be a very dark navy/midnight blue. This silk will make a very nice lined/tipped six-fold tie." Well then. I inch closer to my Mullberrywood Holy Grail. Not that I don't make an attempt to be informed on the migratory patterns of Mul...
