Re: Moleskin Trousers
As said, I think the reasons are historical. In America, denim became the cloth for workwear followed by chinos whereas in the uk corduroy and moleskin were used. It may have helped the popularity of corduroy that during clothing rationing in world war two, corduroy trousers were designated workwear...

Your tailor is clearly a master of his craft! He may retire but you have his work to enjoy for many years yet!

Re: Homburg or Coke/Bowler Hat
I understand why some might consider Locks forbidding due to the history but, in reality, I have always found the staff very polite and helpful with no pressure to buy. When I visited the Patey shop in Connaught Street for the first time I ended up having a long and interesting conversation with the...

Re: Waistcoats. The Long View.
Have you considered an indian nehru waistcoat in khadi wool? They are designed to be worn as an outer garment so are wool front and back.

Re: Hilditch and Key
Very disappointed with the new website. I was in Jermyn Street this week and saw their window display of a wide range of collar and cuff styles that are not reflected in their offerings. What is the point of that? Showing us what they used to make but don't anymore? I didn't bother going inside.

Thank you Gido and Tutumulut! You have given me a brand name and suppliers, I knew members of the Lounge would have the answers!

Advocaat
I know we have Dutch members of the Lounge so perhaps they, or anyone else, can help. I have a friend who lived in Holland some years ago and has fond memories of the advocaat that was so thick it had to be eaten more than drunk. The brands available in the UK (Warnincks & Bols) don't come close. Ca...

I will add my support to this. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and Mr Alden is a natural on screen so here's hoping he does some more!

Re: Roger Moore
I believe Cyril Castle was the tailer for the early Bond films with Roger Moore but later it was Dougie Hayward, not sure when or why the change.

Re: Shorter scarves (where to find one?)
Not sure what you would consider as long and thick but my favourite cashmere scarf is made by Begg who now have a transactional website, http://www.beggandcompany.com which I am pleased about as I don't know of a shop that stocks their full colour range. Their smallest scarf they call a muffler scar...

Re: Where to buy a hat
My best wishes for your treatment and return to health. That being said, a good hat can raise your spirits as well as protect your head. As you need a hat now rather than wait for one to be made then I would also recommend Locks or Bates. I have found both to be very helpful on the phone or by email...
