Re: Looking forward to winter

That is an amazing coat. There has to be a very happy LL member somewhere! Would love to see him wearing the coat.

What base colour would you recommend for a POW suiting cloth if the jacket needs to double up as an odd jacket? Perhaps someone would help me out. I thought the POW check had a specific color arrangement: red-brown check, white ground, slate gray overplaid. Isn't any deviation from that arrangement...

It really doesn't look like a houndstooth to me though, are you sure that's what it is?
Looks like nailhead to me.
It's a small houndstooth (puppytooth?). Anyway that suit should be the same one as this

Thanks for the pics, Mark. It looks like it was a grand event. Sorry to ask, but is there a link? How does one get to these? Perhaps my page is loading differently, but I have not the faintest idea where 'East Coast' or 'Chapters' appear oscarfan and Master G, do either of you have access to the pho...

Cantabrigian, twill is a diagonally ribbed weave. Jeans and chinos are usually woven with a twill weave. Gabardine is a firm, tightly woven fabric that is smooth on one side and is twill woven on the other side. It's usually made from worsted wool, but it can also be made from other fibers (cotton, ...

pchong, great photos, especially the Tokyo nightline, and I look forward to your report on the meeting. Because Mr. Yamazaki's wife acted as translator, do you know whether or not Mr. Yamazaki is able to respond to e-mails written in english? I would like to write him an e-mail praising his website,...

Etutee, thank you for the fun and informative post. While I agree that there are far more interesting (and relevant) subjects, I think it's good of you to compile this article on a subject that most of us have always had questions about. Thanks for indulging us.

The '30s Style

While I was reading the main page at Dandyism.net, I found a website called the30sstyle . It's a Japanese site that has a lot of Esky/AA pics, pics of various '30s celebrity, and pics of gorgeously tailored suits based on the 1930's styles. Whether or not one is interested in those types of suits, I...

carpu65, thank you for the pics. It’s always nice to receive an early Christmas present. :D I have a lot of questions that I hope either you or other members of the board can answer. They’re quite long. So I hope no one minds, but here they are. The First Set 1. In the first picture, the man holding...

pgolden, As I understand it, The London Lounge is a two-tiered site. The first tier is for the registered "guests." This tier allows the members of LL to get to know new guests and allows those new guests to post questions and information about and experiences with the bespoke arts. The second tier,...

Etutee, thanks for the post and all the hard work you put into your posts. I've been reading the board for a few months now, and I have to say that your Esk/AA posts are the most informative and entertaining posts that I've read on a men's clothes forum. I haven't read your entire post, but I just h...
