Pipe Tobacco

I've noticed two things recently (though, given my general inattention, these are probably not recent developments): Dunhill pipe tobacco is going for a lot of money on eBay and it is unavailable at my favorite website. Is Dunhill (or its licensee) out of business? If so, any recommendation for a go...

Thank you both for your very helpful responses. I'll give Chris a call. I live in Dallas, so he is my best option by far. And it sounds (and looks) like he's a fantastic option wherever you live.

Chris Despos

Hello everyone. I have read in various places that Chris Despos' house style is changing somewhat from a more structured jacket to a softer one. Is this true? Thank you.

One difference worth noting: I have found that it is easier to get more styles of EGs in narrower widths. The C&Js that I have tried, even in the narrowest (readily) available widths, were too wide for me. Not sure if this is an issue for you, but I thought I would point it out. I also think that, o...

Edicion Limitada

I have not kept up with the new EL offerings (I think the last one I smoked was the excellent 2003 Hoyo Piramide). Have any of you smoked any of the newer ones? And, a broader question, do you think the ELs are significantly better than the regular lines? I'm not sure that I do, but it could be beca...

As I posted in another thread, I am a fan of Daniel Marshall humidors. The 150 count I have sitting next to the chair in my study is as close to perfect as I have ever had in a humidor. Marshall sells factory seconds (though finding the defect is next to impossible) at very attractive prices, too.

I agree that the tupperware "Tupperdor" (see also the "Coolerdor," "Igloodor," etc.-- you can find instructions on the web that tell you how to build these things) is a great, cheap option. When you get ready to step up to a more purpose-built device, I would like to put in a pitch for Daniel Marsha...

Alden--
If you are a piramides man, try the new Partagas Serie P No. 2-- the batch I tried was, though young, very nice. In my opinion, one of the better new lines in years. It's good to hear that you like the Hoyo EL-- I have a few resting in the humidor and I'm anxious to try them.
