Re: Cloth advice for new bespoke jacket and suit

Great replies so far on the tweed like but lighter, more breathable fabrics. The Glorious Twelfth stuff looks great from looking on Harrison's website and the Merino Brothers Facebook. Might work great for me. I am not concerned with it being only an April-October cloth in Arizona because it is not ...

Cloth advice for new bespoke jacket and suit

I will be commissioning a new suit and sport coat in a couple weeks when I go visit my tailor Len Logsdail in New York. I am looking to get a double breasted prince of Wales check suit and a great sport coat. I live in Arizona so obviously I need to skew more towards lighter weight fabrics. I was th...

Re: Leonard Logsdail Video

For those who go to the link, that fawn colored overcoat with the velvet inset collar is the same as the overcoat len just made for me! . When I was in I saw his overcoat and thought it was so great I had him make me the same one. I recently received it and it really is amazing. The back of that coa...

Re: Return to Naples: Looking for Suggestions and Shirtmaker

A good friend of mine had shirts made by Merolla e de L'ero a few years ago before the split. He absolutely loved the shirts. I thought they fit great and were very well made. I can't speak to how they are now after split. But from viewing his shirts and speakign to him, they were wonderful them. IN...

Re: Smith's Solaro

these threads show swatches of solaro, search will yield a bunch of different threads that discuss solaro. I have no experience with it myself. The third thread has a solaro made up as a suit from Caraceni Roma. http://www.thelondonlounge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5702&p=12145&hilit=smith+solaro...

Re: Huntsman, A & S or Both???

Jlazarow, I too have happily used logsdail and have him making some stuff up right now. I have not used any of the English tailors, so was just wondering how you found logsdail's work "different" from the others.

Re: Has anyone seen Boardwalk Empire?

Frank, I had no idea that was you on the show. You were absolutely terrific in the "sit sown" scene with jimmy, al, and jonny torrio. Did you wear suits you made yourself or did they make you wear the greenfield suits made for the show?

Re: Second Suit Commision

I love ticket pockets. I think they add a lot while still being relatively unassuming. Though, I like them on me because I am extremely tall, I think they work better on tall guys. Peak lapels can look great also, though I like them more on striped suits than solid.

Re: A bespoke Polo coat

perhaps it is an odd detail to notice, but those are great looking buttons on that coat. Did you search those out yourself or did the tailor pick them out. I am actually having a double breasted overcoat made up right now, I hope I like it as much as I like this one!

Button Flies

how do people feel about button flies on their bespoke trousers. I am considering getting some button flies made this time around rather than zip flies.

Re: H.Lesser: No More

My guess is that they would keep it going. Its actually Lear Brown and Dunsford which bought Harrisons and Porter Harding years ago and they kept those brands.

Re: Spoils of Napoli

Manton, How long would one need to be in naples to get a suit made by Solito or Rubinacci (assuming selecting cloth on the first day from in stock cloth)? Same question with Merolla for shirts.

Re: New Bespoke order

Well I had a great visit with Len. I made some surprising choices actually. I chose a charcoal chalk stripe from Smith's Siena book (the same book my original logsdail navy herringbone is from and it is one of Len's favorite books) to be made up as a three piece single breasted peak lapel with a roy...

Re: My first bespoke suit

I would make sure to wear it a few times before making any changes. From my experience, it may just be that it needs to mold to your body a bit.

New Bespoke order

Heading in for a visit with Len Logsdail on Friday to commission a new order. Going to get a tux and two suits. Tux will probably jsut be a classic black single button peak lapel (love midnight blue but will be my only tux so I think I need to go black.) For the suits I am looking to get a nice dark...
