I just received some delicious Partagas Series D No. 4 ( 5 x 50) and enjoyed my first one last night. Splendid smoke. Cliff, Partagas Serie D No. 4 is one of my favorites. If you like torpedos, definately give Paratgas Serie P No. 2 a whirl. The draw on these cigars are just amazing. Speaking of To...

I was at the Mayflower (a pub located on the waterfront, South of the Thames) where I noticed a vending machine selling Cuban coronations. Upon sussing the pub, there were indeed a few people puffing away on cigars. Naturally, I assumed that this was a cigar friendly pub, but still made sure to chec...

Certain lighters that use an odorless fuel are OK, but these are expensive. On top of butane lighters being expensive, the jet flame type of butane lighters are extremely finicky and volatile. Its tantamount to a two year old child. I would adhere to Manton's advice and simply use wooden match stic...

Last week I was fortunate enough to smoke quite a few freshly rolled havanas by a Mr. Hamlet Jaime Paredes from Romeo Y Julieta. These are a much different breed from the norm, and much stronger I might add. The size I was smoking was equvilent to a Siglo VI, and I thought I stepped into a boxing ri...

brescd01,

Your post has really stirred an interest for Dandy. Any idea of where I can get a hold of a copy in the NY area or even subscribe to such magazines? I have yet to come across both magazines at the book shops in my area. Thanks.

Much thanks to all that have replied! The reason why I enquired about Henry Poole was because I had a suit commissoned there (my first and only bespoke experience) and found the staff to be extremely friendly and very opened minded. Albeit it would be simplier to go to a local tailor in NY, there's ...

bry2000 & RWS, Thank you very much for the replies.:D Does Budd require a minimum order? Also, are shirts as demanding with fittings compared to suits? I ask because I will be London for only a few days and most likely will not be able to get any fittings scheduled in.

I too use Acqua di Parma, but most people in my circles don't like it. I suppose it is b/c they are accustomed to the more ubiquitous fragrances out there.
