White tie/Tails Cartoon

Dear members,

for a discussion I was in need of an cartoon lately, but I can't find it online. We had it discussed here years ago, I believe. It's about the white of the waistcoat showing under the tails of white tie.
Could you give me a hand?

Thanks!

Riding in Style is really a nice thing, but from personal experience (I drove to University for 5 Years, every morning 12 kilometers in max.30 minutes through woods and parks, very nice way to start your day, watching birds and squirrels and stuff) I have to say: - be careful about your shoes. Lethe...

Dear Etutee many thanks also from this humble reader. The word "inspirational" really fits perfectly. You helped me to understand (well, when I say understand..) a long lost art and not to listen to the fashion-prone comments about this-and-that I do. I now choose my clothes with much more care and ...

Hat-wearing while dining outside?

Fellow members, as I had the situation twice last week, I have to ask if there is a traditional way in dealing with the following situation. I was invited to partys, one a family birthday, one a day-out with colleagues. I was wearing my Panama on both occasions, with a linen suit once and once with ...

For history tells us that since the dawn of the modern age of dress with the French Revolution, that ours is the Second Age of Nudity. If you go back a little more, you can find the same thing again. At the End of the 15th century the same thing happened. Doublets became shorter, narrower cut and s...

I would back RWS here. Beeing an outdoors person all my live, I only ever used wellies for fishing. For walking, hiking etc. I always prefer hiking boots lined with Gore-Tex or similar. Better performance and looks by miles. Buy them large enough for a second pair of woollen socks and you are always...

Hy Britaly, alas, I can not help you with the last query. But I think I know, why only so few gave you an answer. I would asume that to most of the gents on this forum it is not an appealing idea to go into a shop, try on shoes and then buy them online. That does not feel right, as it is literally s...

Vest - Lapel Styles

Dear Getlemen Beeing a Newbie in the LL and mosly a reader, I didn't have any queries so far, as everything is quite fully understandable pictured, even for a non-native-speaker, by the incredibly informed members. Thanks for that, by the way! But last night I had a weird thought (weird, that is, fo...

Maybe a pair of boat shoes is satisfactory to your needs? http://www.sperrytopsider.com/index.jsp Or a nice pair of loafers. If price is an issue, Loake has some nice deals in their upper line, or even as seconds: http://www.herringshoes.co.uk/ But the C&J mentioned is definitely a very niche shoe! ...

Dear Gents, unfortunately I cannot give advice, but I would like to broaden the question a bit, as I will have to attend a christening as godfather and a wedding as best man soon (not on the same occasion, though), and had similar thoughts as above. I saw the pictures of the Queens Diamond Anniversa...
