Re: Solid colored Harris Tweed for blazers?
For the odd jackets I have chosen herringbone or "broken" herringbone fabrics. The blazer I imagined would be in the blue which, along with the black, appears quite solid even up close. These two very much surprised me given the color requirements for the fabric to be stamped. I considiered one of t...

Solid colored Harris Tweed for blazers?
All - I am having some Harris Tweed odd jackets made up and really liked a few of the solid Harris Tweeds in the book. I've never seen it done but, would it work to have blazers done in in Harris Tweed? I was thinking about the blue and one of the deep greens. I love so many of the fabrics in this b...

Gentlemen,
What an embarrassment of riches! My accountant will not thank you for setting such temptation before a sinner.

Re: Horn and Mother-of-Pearl button sources?
Jordan, Marcelo and le.gentleman, Thank you all. Tender Buttons is on my agenda for my next trip home, along with Rare Frames for some new sun glasses. Increasingly, I find I love browsing wonderful little specialty stores or visiting the makers of the goods I purchase. I have become less willing to...

Horn and Mother-of-Pearl button sources?
I am looking for sources of real horn buttons in varying shades and sizes for coats as well as Mother-of-Pearl for shirts. Do you have any recommendations? Preferably in the United States but, any sources of quality buttons would be greatly appreciated.

Etutee,
Do you have contact information for Gary White? Is he in Boston or Buffalo/Rochester, NY? Perhaps I am confusing him with another hatter, or perhaps he moved?
Cheers

Re: Bespoke Macs? Socks?
Thank you all for the suggestions. I forgot entirely aboult Flusser and I'll certainly check out Mackintosh Rainwear. It looks like they also have a location in NYC.
Now if only I could find socks.

Bespoke Macs? Socks?
Hello All, I have another question for the members of these fora. Are there any makers of bespoke Macintosh rainwear? I also have trouble finding good socks in my size. There are few socks small enough from heel to toe and fewer still that are narrow enough for my feet - I wear a US men's 6 C if the...

Re: Sunglasses - anyone still make custom horn frames?
Thanks again! These look quite intereting as well. I'll have to visit both. For the first time in several years not only will I have some interesting choices but, I may actually have the opportunity to purchase more than one pair for different occasions.
Cheers,
Rafe

Re: Sunglasses - anyone still make custom horn frames?
Shredder - Thank you! They certainly do look just the trick.
Edit - I guess I'll need to wait until October when we're in Paris. I somehow put an New York address in Outlook for M. Bonnet.

Sunglasses - anyone still make custom horn frames?
Does anyone still make custom sunglass frames? Preferably in real horn or maybe tortoise shell? I am fairly small with a narrow face so most glasses are too wide for my face. The best pair I ever had were horn, made for me by a shop in Milan (long gone) they made the bridge narrower, the frames and ...

Suit patterns from the interbellum?
Does anyone know a good source for men's suit patterns from the interbellum period? I would like to bring some illustrations to my tailor for a project I have been mulling over for some time. I believe I have a green light to move forward for my birthday so I need to get serious about the details......

Never can have enough. With the new casual workplace on days when we don't see clients I wear ascots. My problem now, is that I 'need' quite a few more. For variety I have been picking up large scarves that can be folded and worn as one would an ascot and I find I can no longer abide an open collar ...
