Pinstripes

What is the general opinion?

Should the pinstripes from the front and back panels of the jacket match across the shoulder or does it matter if they don't align? I have seen some well made suits constructed both ways.

Do either of you gentlemen know whether the coats were made to the same standard?

I think we've moved onto a new subject! Perhaps this needs a new thread.

Aquascutum - made in Canada?

I came across an Aquascutum trenchcoat for sale at a local higher end "previously enjoyed" clothing shop. Interestingly, along with the traditional Aquascutum label which denotes the appointment to the Queen and Queen Mother, it says "Made in Canada." Does anyone know anything about Aquascutum coats...

Thanks, zegnamtl. I had not considered Samuelsohn. I did purchase a JP Tilford suit MTM through Harry Rosen and to be honest was never that impressed with the final product, even after a couple of trips back for alterations. Do you find the Samuelsohn to be a better quality? What is your opinion of ...

Hmm. What men's magazine would you recommend, if any? I have looked at Men's Vogue but find it pretentious and out of touch with the world I live in.

Thanks,
M.

Z Zegna and Strellson - your opinions

I am wondering what the members here feel of the quality of suits from the Z Zegna line or from Strellson. I have a very difficult time with RTW suits (6'3", 37" sleeve, 36" waist) but have found that a 48T from Z Zegna or a 46T from Strellson are a good approximation and could probably be very good...

Thanks to everyone who responded. I will confess that I read about this in an American issue of GQ magazine. I believe they referred to the look as being "stuck in 1986" - I don't get it.

Anyway, you have helped me avoid having to ask whether vents can be added to a ventless jacket.

Have I made a terrible mistake?

When I was young, I had a ordered a made-to-measure suit from the outlet of a local high end retailer. It was to be my wedding suit. I knew little about what makes a stylish garment (probably not much better now) and when asked about the venting, decided on ventless. I have since read that this is a...
