Re: Probably the shirt
Am I seeing a bit of a ridge forming under the back of the collar in the side view? if so, this could be a shirt problem. Sometimes you will see this kind of ridge when one is wearing a RTW shirt that is too big under a bespoke coat. M Alden Ah...quite possible as that shirt is rather loose but it ...

Re: Shirt question
Yes, by a local NY shirtmaker. However, I find it a bit loose fitting these days.alden wrote:Is the shirt you are wearing bespoke? I mean was a pattern made etc to fit you?

Thank you gents for all the comments. Overall cut is very attractive. I'd say it is flattering, but I have no real idea of what lies beneath and shouldn't presume too much about that. To give you an idea what my regular jackets look like, I've uploaded some pictures of a dark blue sportsjacket with ...

First experience using a travelling tailor (some pics)
I think this is my first post in this particular forum. I recently received a sports jacket from a travelling tailor and would like your thoughts on its fit and overall cut. This is my first order from this tailor and I had one fitting after placing the order. (Tailor's name is currently withheld so...

The handles on safety razors I've seen are all rather short. Are there alternatives? There is the Merkur Long Classic , or you could get the futuristic looking Merkur Vision or the Merkur Futur . Side by side pics of the Vision and Futur alongside a shorter Progress model can be found here: http://...

Re: Good razors
Gentlemen, After a quick web-search, I come with two suspects: Edwin Jagger and Cyril R Salter. What is your opinion on them? Who is better? Are there any other good manufacturers? Andrey Just in case your web-search did not turn up with the Badger and Blade site, here is their URL: http://www.badg...

Jannis, Thank you for the pictures. Always nice to see the real thing. As for renaming the album, I'm reproducing below instructions I wrote for another member. Your menu options may be different than what's pictured below but the concept is the same. I believe that in this case only the user who cr...

Indeed, but if the fit is snug doesn't it feel like the ankle is enclosed in a plaster cast, making it difficult to step or climb stairs? How do you keep the ankle fully flexible with a tightly fitting boot? I have in mind a higher boot, 17 cm + from the heel. Snug but not tight. You want to mainta...

I particularly like the design on of the first shoe. It's something I've been considering for a while. I would like to see the eyelets more widely spaced as they get closer to the toe. By the way, how snugly is a higher boot supposed to fit on the leg, above the ankle? I like it quite snug to start ...

The model I used to describe the style to Paul was a Vass 3-eyelet derby, and the quarter seam extends far back on those models. I rather wanted this feature on this shoe to make it sleeker as I have short, wide feet. I don't think that doing the same thing on a half-brogue is a bug - just a matter ...
