Re: Cloth finish.

I have once come across that documentary. I didn't have the time to watch it, and the algorithm never brought it back to my attention.
But now you did! Thanks for bringing it back to my attention. Great story and the music is also excellent.
I now have a new appreciation for (british) cloth!

Re: Royal air travel

You guys in Sweden are lucky to have such a stylish king. I give you mine: king Willem-alexander of the house of Orange. Anyway, you may not want to google that name. He just wears suits, because he has to (and look at his shoes, he always wears the same pair because it's easy to slip out and in to ...

Re: Untipped vs. self-tipped -Which type of tie do you prefer?

Don't get me started. I don't know a great deal about tie construction but the question for me is whether they are unlined (and untipped) or lined/multi-fold. I detest unlined ties. I guess they are supposed to convey sprezzatura - you know, that thing where you spend a great deal of time and effor...

Re: First bespoke commission

In days of old it was a grand honor for a customer to be allowed to even peek into the work room. I allowed my Golden Age LL customers into my shop to watch me build their coat. For one customer I made him the most beautiful, original style, 1930s drape coat from a beautiful old Lesser windowpane. ...

Re: First bespoke commission

At least say: 'you are the master, just do as you see fit'. I do it that way now, and I never get disappointed with the decisions he made. (take it or leave it). Bespoke tailoring is an art form. When you order a painting do you tell the painter how you want it done? Well, you give him some suggesti...

So this topic title could better be named different because here is my third commission: https://i.imgur.com/id3OQgF.jpg https://i.imgur.com/H7tTcn0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Cqnd9Jq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ax2bz1T.jpg While the first two commissions had some flaws, and that was partly my fault as I w...

Re: DB Blazer

L,dejong what about the rest of the coat ? That amazing coat ? Do you understand what your eyes see ? A remarkably made coat ? Or just buttons. Who cares about the buttons? Seriously ? The coat is astounding. Do you know that ? Buttons? Slap 👋 Well, a beautiful coat deserves great buttons. :D The c...

Great coat!

Buttons are not my cup of tea (but maybe it's the photo that makes the yellowish?), maybe go for brass? they age soo nicely.

Re: Trousers

Like last time I want to show my bespoke trousers. I will let you guys judge if the tailor did a good job. https://www.instagram.com/p/BuHSy8BhuEP/ I also have some olive cords made up. I asked Andy (styleafter50) and Frank for some advice. Alas, they didn't have experience with the Eskdale trouser ...
