We have been discussing the LL Limited edition Windsor shoe in the Limited Editions forum and it caused me to think about the stock shoe lasts that have the best lines. Three lasts from EG come to mind. The 88 last in a "C" fitting is probably the best looking RTW shoe I have seen. Tied for second ...

It's a check pattern named after horse traders in London. Typcially two different colours for the vertical and horizontals on a lighter background.

I have suede shoes from C&J from both their handgrade and benchgrade lines. The handgrades (Belgrave model) are much much nicer with a very fine nap, the benchgrade is noticeably coarser. The colour of the handgrade is also a richer dark brown. David - Cusey was referencing "Cape Buck", a fine suede...

Hi SouthPender - If you email H. Lesser (info@hlesser.co.uk) they will send you any number of swatches you want and the pricing per metre. The 13oz worsteds would make up very nicely for trousers and they run about GBP 51 per metre, slightly higher for birdseyes. I don't think seeing swatches online...
