Should bespoke always achieve a perfect fit?

I just recently started to have garments made bespoke, so excuse me if some of my thoughts can appear naive. What I would like to know is, should bespoke garments always have a perfect fit? I had some shirts and a jacket made bespoke and honestly they are not perfect fit and there are a few aspect I...

Re: Moleskin Trousers

If Cordings does not work for you, I have bought excellent RTW moleskin trousers from Ben Silver (made of English cloth but a bit lighter weighted than those from Cordings). I´m not sure if they make them in small sizes though; they are geared to the American market, you know. You may be faced with...

Re: Moleskin Trousers

i sent an email to cordings and unfortunately they changed the cut of their trousers just recently and 9inches opening is for a 28" waist too. Apparently no matter what your waist is the leg opening is 9 inches which is huge in my opinion. I understand you concern with that lack of balance. My 13 y...

Re: Moleskin Trousers

...cordings are a nice option, however I saw the sizing guide and for a 28" waist the leg opening is 18 inches? Seems overly big. It´s a mistake. The width for a size 38 is around 9 inches. i sent an email to cordings and unfortunately they changed the cut of their trousers just recently and 9inche...

Re: Moleskin Trousers

what's the most traditional and versatile colour for moleskin trousers? Moleskin RTW trousers are a fairly inexpensive item. Even those from Cordings are only around US$150. So you could disregard versatility in favor of the perfect match for the blazers or tweed jackets that you already own. For i...

Re: Navy odd jacket for autumn/winter

thank you for all the replies so far. I really like your donegal suggestions, lovely fabric and I really like textured fabrics ( that's one of the reason I like my hopsack). My only doubt about donegal is that I'm not very used to see tweeds in navy, I've always seen tweed in earth-tone colours like...

Navy odd jacket for autumn/winter

What would be a nice fabric for a navy odd jacket suited for autumn- winter? I already own a navy hopsack odd jacket which is too light for winter and I need a navy jacket for the colder months. The jacket I have in mind is quite sporty and a similar configuration to the hopsack: full canvass, natur...

Re: Pairing trousers with a hopsack blazer

Just about anything except jeans, especially blue jeans. I see this trend more and more and it hurts my eyes. The blues cannot possibly match and who, in his right mind, would wear non matching, blue dress trousers with a navy blazer? Moreover the outdoor working nature of the denim conflicts with ...

Pairing trousers with a hopsack blazer

I own a navy hopsack blazer, what type of fabric would you recommend for trousers? I was thinking about fresco, tropical wool and linen. I'm thinking to opt for linen trousers because they are cheaper, easier to find on local shops and I don't mind the wrinkles. I realize fresco and tropical wool wo...
