Re: Bespoke shirts: the Details
While we're on the subject can anyone recommend a shirtmaker based in London? Who are members using these days? And are they able to produce a shirt with a soft button-down collar? I’ve been using Santamaria lately. MTM that is very good quality for the price and very efficient. They’ve gone out of...

Re: Changing money in use
I haven't carried cash in years. Cash is dirty, coins are ridiculously heavy and also very unsanitary. I use a simple card holder from Ettinger. Even then, I pay with my phone in almost all situations. Leaving Italy on Friday and entering the United States on Saturday we were stopped by customer ag...

Re: Bespoke shirts: the Details
Ha ha ha! Fair enough; fair enough. Definition of bespoke means that I can do what I want with my shirt and you can do what you want! Original poster wanted suggestions. These were mine. Bespoke means that you never have to buy the shirt that I design! ....and i never have to wear the shirt you des...

Remind me please, are you based in London? If so, I am happy to share a few ideas with you.

Re: Teba fabric?
As I mentioned over at SF, I’m a big fan of Tebas. I have 3 light weight ones (2 hopsack, one light cotton), 1 mid one (Dashing Tweeds), and one flannel (Fox).
In general, I think any fabric with a bit of drape will work fine.

John is such an amazing character! I would commission a new suit just to get some of his banter!

Agree on Dan and Richard, I'm not a huge fan of Dave to be honest.

Re: How are you getting your work done?
Did a couple of skype fittings with Dalcuore before Gigi passed away, mostly for adjustments on garments I had fitted in person in Naples last Summer, which required small adjustments here and there. Once Brexit came in full force I stopped, as things got stopped at the border and crazy fees were ap...

Re: Shoe care in London
I wish I could find the emails where the original ID was made. I'd tried to find the place in Crown Passage, and nobody there had forwarding info. Best of luck! https://www.google.com/maps/place/Tonys+Heel+Bar/@51.5480723,-0.1407994,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x2a805abae5ed22b6?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiUhrOe0...

Re: Shoe care in London
The guy running the Snob Shop had a preference for a place behind St James, but that moved out to one of the burbs. If you have time to use the post, that might be worth tracking down. Do you remember anything else? I'm searching but can't find any solid leads. There's Tony's heel bar, which was in...
