Cuff Links & Uniforms
Gentlemen, I regret my tardy response. One of my most precious possessions is a pair of Regulation U.S. Navy Cuff links worn by my father during World War Two. They were a part of the service blue uniform. Sometime between now and then ordinary plastic buttons came along as a matter of practicality....

Reference the comment about Bridge Too far
The Officer in Bridge Too Far remarking to his Batman about packing his evening wear for the Airborne assault, was, in the film LtCol J.D. Frost. In reality it is more likely to have been made by LtGen "Boy" Browning, who established a reputation as a natty dresser in his early days in the Guards. B...

Overcoat Recommendation
"Ricky, I am shocked, SHOCKED" . . . Not about the gambling in Rick's Cafe Americain discovered by Captain Renault but by the absence of a traditional British Warm in the suggestions. I totally agree a proper Chesterfield should be the starter, preferably with a velvet collar, but the next acquisiti...

Pocket squares
Making Reference to JAS suggestion of reviving the back of a fav shirt as a pocket square, may I add that works well with the lady's slightly worn silk blouses as well !

orthotics
Dear List Members, In Re: Orthotics, I survived two "shoulda been fatal" parachute accidents. As a result one leg is a mite longer than the other (a condition with which many of us are born) and my pelvis is quite unlevel. Tailors cut my trousers such that my malady is cleverly concealed, but to cor...

Chesterfield Coat
Thank you very much for this info re: Hickey Freeman. I, like you, am not too keen on the failure to embody true Chesterfield fashion by skipping the fly front. I will let this example pass on, but had it a proper front I would have leapt!
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Chesterfield Coat - help wanted!
Esteemed Loungers, I would like to add a classic medium grey Chesterfield, perhaps in a small herringbone pattern, to my wardrobe. I love my G&H British Warm but want something darker. In a perfect world, I would like a high quality OTR size 42, replete with black velvet collar. I've been as far as ...

another Vote for Budd
DonkeyHodee (I love that "Nom de Guerre" - well done !) I add my vote to those who would have you visit Budd. They have been my exception to my own MTM rule. I suggest you pray for the pleasure of being assisted by Mr Rowley. They have another man there (on Mondays) who, is far less personable, hosp...

I vote for Bombay Saphire. If you feel adventurous of a Sunday afternoon, mix a shot of it with 2 shots Pimm's #1 Cup and about 3 shots of Coke-Cola and about 3 ice cubes. Go to the hammock with your wisk, recline and enjoy.

Etutee's latest achievement
Etutee, How splendid ! I will relish a detailed reading with my Lagavulin, arguably the best wiskey available on the East Coast of the US. Only fitting for such a fine piece of research and commentary !

Rubinacci Ties
I am not often in a position to add anything of value to this wondeful forum. I can say, however, without equivocation that the three Rubinacci ties I bought last summer in the London shop are among the most prized jewels of my wardrobe. The lustre is unmatched, the designs are simple and unique and...

How Timely!
Hello All, This is my first post. I am honored to be in your company. I am enroute to London for purely pleasure this trip. I was searching our site here and discovered this reportage on Rubinacci. Clearly this establishment will be among my first visits when I arrive. Thank you all for your contrib...
