(I could be directly psychanalized from this behaviour: buttoning the coat may be interpreted as a refined version of the primeval reflex to protect the soft ventral area fom "attack", or what we feel might invade our private space). What then, does this say about the Neapolitan penchant for open f...

Harvie and Hudson shirts aren't any better than the standard fare on Jermyn St., and in fact I think that they're worse than most. Why not go to Italy or Hong Kong? You could get bespoke at the same price as Thomas Pink RTW.

Hope this isn't too late. You can get Thurston braces at a mediocre shirt store in Skygarden off the Pitt St. Mall. I think it's called something like "Baubridge and Kay". Sydney isn't going to bowl you over in terms of clothing stores/tailors.

AusMD might have some other suggestions.

The carmina boot would no doubt be a welcome addition to the Breschian panoply. The rain last is seriously good-looking.

Some of those are interesting. The danger of these coats is that - in the wrong hands (or on the wrong shoulders) - they could look ghetto fabulous.

I saw the wholecut on the rain last on a recent trip to Barcelona. Best looking wholecut I've ever seen.

PS One has to love the Casentino coat pictured in this thread. I am tempted, really tempted. At least no one would have a problem finding me while on a long walk in the Sicilian hills.
Go on, get one: I think you could carry the look off easily.

Giona - nice suit! Having seen photos of this suit, and having seen up close the suit of our mutual friend  (who has a light beige DB linen suit), I must say that I've become very partial to the "concept". Can you tell us more about the material?

Rolf,

I second Andrey's comments. I'll be in Vienna - I hope - in June/July.

I've seen the EG Newbury in suede. I tend to think that it works better in regular calf.

As for cordovan wholecuts, I've seen the Carmina offering and the Vass (on the P2 last), neither of which are available in London (to my knowledge).

Nobody, to my knowledge.
