Re: 2019 shirtmaker recommendations.
I use Sean O'Flynn and have so far been pleased with the shirts he has made for me.

Re: Linen home shrunk. Soaking, drying, steam-ironing...?
I just noticed the ticket on my LL SSG2 linen says washed. BTW I should be finally picking my sports coat in it up from the tailor next week.

Journalists do seem to go for bold designs when given the opportunity.

Re: Bespoke Black and White Houndstooth Sportcoat
How's this Fox flannel for size of check?
CBT9 A0053/11
I have a 3 piece suit in the Dugdale 8711 from their Formal Wear collection but the pattern is probably too small for you.

All good. The Graham Browne one looks like a great city suit. Buy 3!

Re: Advice wanted: re-building a wardrobe
Culverwood, thank you for the constructive conversation. I would suggest to Mariano that on trousers he orders orders in the future he asks for this style. But I want 1-1/4" more rise. I didn't want to scare him away with too high of a classic rise right away. It is unheard of today. Shame. I want ...

Re: Advice wanted: re-building a wardrobe
Love the coat but to me although the trousers look good from the front, to me the side view and I suspect the back view look "baggy" at the rear.
I do not know your shape in that area and it may be a choice you and Frank have made but perhaps when you meet it is something to consider.

Re: Advice wanted: re-building a wardrobe
In answer to UC's question my attitude is very hands off. I expect my tailor to have forgotten more about tailoring than I will ever know and as long as I like the cloths she/he makes for me I will continue to go there. My input is just choosing the cloth and the basic style of the garment. Very muc...

Re: Advice wanted: re-building a wardrobe
Given that I suggest you would be wearing these shoes with your more formal suits then what you have suggested seems sensible although I would reverse the colours and get a black oxford and a dark brown monk. Welcome to another set of experiences. From my own past given that getting the fit right fi...

Re: Advice wanted: re-building a wardrobe
Wrt to shoes, I am a big believer in the barefoot movement, and since I adopted barefoot shoes my stance has improved considerably and back pain has dissapeared. Thus, I have decided I am not going back to regular shoes. I’ve looked at several barefoot brands, and the only one I found that has dece...

Re: Building a wardrobe
My first two choice would be as yours, for my third sports jacket I would choose a check in perhaps a dark green background.

Or possibly an overcoat or covert coat that you could wear over a heavy sweater for casual walks and evenings in the city.

Re: Socks that last!
So true. All my nice socks wear out quickly whereas my Uniqlo one last forever.
