Illustration of the week

This is the illustration of the week and it depicts a very good case of “rus in urbe” wear. The soft shouldered Shetland coat is matched with cotton duck trousers in a dark sand color. Note the one button treatment on the cuff of the coat. The penny loafers are worn with colored socks that recall colors in both the coat and silk scarf. This is a simple and elegant way to dress on weekends or while travelling. The ensemble exudes comfort and style. And if you are in the age group say between 18-98 yrs, you would look great in this dress.

Funny you should post this pic. Just this past week I emulated the blue suit with shirt and socks in a very pale lilac and my brown fedora.

First we have to get the current Shetland done, but you were reading my mind. It could also be made in Etna cashmere. The brown with crimson windowpane is one I would love to do. Of course, I would make the windowpane a bit bigger.

Olive green is such a useful color as it combines well with most everything we wear. And, it is also a color that suits almost all of our complexions as well. This scarf is particularly pleasant success. I recently found a bit of material in this olive color that I am making into a muffler and then if all goes well into a scarf. Stay tuned for details in the clothclub.



And this illustration has been submitted to our weavers and a sample is being made in the new 430 gms Shetland. The check will be larger but the overall effect is what you see. Comments?

Not bad. For a worsted. I really can't get my eyes around a chalk in anything other than a flannel. That aside, it is a nice rendition, and I would love it if it were fuzzy.
