I'd like to get some new ideas for colognes.

What are your 5-10 Summer/Winter favorites?

Mine:

Winter

1. Habit Rouge by Guerlain
2. Ambre Precieux by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier
3. Sandalwood by Geo F. Trumper
4. Hammam by Penhaligons
5. Arpege pour Homme by Lanvin

Summer:

1. Terre d'Hermes by Hermes
2. Zanzibar by Van Cleef & Arprels
3. Zagara Acqua di Colonia by S.M Novella
4. E. Marinella Blue Label by E. Marinella

As I stated in the previous long-running and very helpful thread on colognes, I have a bad reaction to some fragrances on my skin. I also live in a pretty consistent climate. Both of these factors color my list. I like the following five:

1. Angeliques Sous la Pluie - Frederic Malle
2. Le Dandy - d'Orsay
3. Yerbamate - Villigrosi
4. Knize 10
5. Vintage Tabarome - Creed

I really only wear the first one as it is very easy on my skin and for my lifestyle. The second is really amazing smelling, but I almost think it smells too good. 2-5 are nice, but I almost never put them on.

In the warmer months I favour Trumper's Eau de Quinine for day wear and Acqua di Parma for the evenings.

In the cooler months I rotate between Trumper's Spanish Leather, Knize 10 and Loewe cologne.

Acqua di Parma Colonia for general purpose
Creed Vintage Tabarome for general purpose
Creed Green Irish Tweed for evening

I'm intrigued by the Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet. Can anyone describe the fragrance for me?

Gucci Pour Homme
Eau D'Hadrien by Annick Goutal
Blenheim Bouquet by Penhaligons

There's so little I like, really. Everything has one note that spoils it, somewhere.

Winter: Dunhill Edition
Summer: Dunhill X-Centric.

I generally do not vary, as I enjoy being identified with an uncommon fragrance.

Summer:
Heritage by Guerlain

Fall:
Knize Ten
Habit Rouge by Guerlain

And I also look forward to give a try to Tabac Blonde by Caron (it is available only in the concentrated form in their Perfume Fountains option which I fear too powerful)

(Note: Tabac Blond is available in a Eau de Toilette at the Caron shops exclusively.)

When I was in London in June, I happened to stop upstairs at Fortnum and Mason (I hadn't remembered that they sold scents). Seeing some empty 5-mm sample vials, I asked if I might purchase samples of a few scents (several mentioned in this thread that I had not tried). The salesperson seemed to approve this approach ("The only way to learn how it wears, really") but insisted that there would be no charge. One of the samples he filled for me was Caron's Tabac Blonde. I didn't watch closely, but it seems unlikely he would have decanted 5 mm of a parfum, so I presume this was an EDT or EDC (though it is still quite potent, and not quite right for me). You might contact Fortnum's to see if they can send you a sample or sell by mail order or online--they certainly are used to shipping things around the world.

I believe there are only three of Caron shops currently - two in Paris and one in NYC. The others are “Espaces Caron” - and the one in Moscow has only the "Fountain" version...

There are 3 Caron shops in paris with the addition of the new Caron space in Bon Marche in the 7th quarter near metro Sevres-Babylone.

Went yesterday to Caron corner only to find that they were closing in Moscow, Tabac Blonde already gone
